Every few months or so, I come back and read this chapter. Each time I still feel the Luca's hollow sadness at Phe's death. I get that pang in my gut that sympathizes with loss, but only comes because of such superb character detail. Phe, Luca, and the kids actually feel like a family which is amazing for just a single arc of the story.

I freaking love this comic so much. The contrast between the wild girl and the courtly folk is done so well.

I came for the naked chick, stayed for, well, everything.

Wow, I mean, even to me it's pretty obvious and logical.
The ambassadors and their people have absolutely nothing to gain from killing her. She was the one that wanted peace. So it is clear,t hat from that, whoever arranged her death did not want peace, but wanted war. And who wanted war? Why, the giant tiger-monster in the ceiling.

I read this second chapter last night, and then I had a dream about Luca's hands. Very different to the first chapter, but equally impressive, and really builds up the world that you've created. Kudos!
