Happy ending for (almost) everyone! Thanks for reading

Chapter 2 will begin on August 22nd! In the meantime (starting on 7/22) I’ll be posting the sketch pages from the first draft of Chapter 1. Its changed quite a bit! Hopefully for the better. Best of all I’ll be posting those pages at the original rate of posting, which is to say two pages per day. Pretty crazy right? One page will be up on the site and another will be up as an incentive. I will also be turning off comments for those since they will not be a permanent part of the site archive, but you can feel free to comment on them on the Meek LJ.

Again, thanks so much for all your support for the comic so far! It means so much to me… this is a very long term project, and knowing that people are enjoying my work is what keeps me most motivated. I’ve already started on Chapter 2 and it is going to be awesome.

Also, happy birthday to my brother, who is turning 21 tommorrow! Congrats on somehow surviving (me) all this time, haha.

AND SO the adventure begins or something. One more epilogueish page following this one, then thats it for these two for a while!

Ooh, today is Wednesday. I should pimp something… uh… how about a comic everyone already knows? The Abominable Charles Christopher is one of the most professional webcomics ever, you sort of have to see it to believe it. Both story and art are incredible, if you haven’t see it yet you probably should… btw, this is the difference between someone who knows what they’re doing and someone who fakes it (that’s me XD).

Pimp of the week recap: Shrub Monkeys by Ktshy

Fast recovery! Angora is special like that. Side story, one time I had hiccups so I held my breath… I guess I held it for a little too long cuz I passed out and ripped my lip open on the side of a mirror on the way down, haha. The point is I woke up on the floor (bleeding) about 3 seconds later so I gave Angora a similar recovery time. Additionally, I am smart.

Sorry for the late update again… 2 days wasn’t enough to finish this page, and then I got distracted! I guess I shouldn’t feel guilty to spend my weekend doing something other than comics but somehow I do, haha.

Okay, enough blabber, hopefully you’re all having nice weekends as well.

Wow, late update. Thanks so much for your patience and understanding. The crisis that caused the late upload is thankfully resolved (with happy/ surprise ending, so…yay).

This page also kind of kicked my ass cuz I hate drawing vines, ugh. So many mistakes too, I have a lot of edits to make. BUT thankfully there are only three! more! pages! until the end of the chapter! I’ll be taking a month or so break before starting chapter 2, but in the interim will be posting the sketch pages here so you can see the glaring differences and laugh at the bad writing. More on that later.

For this Wednesday’s (give or take 24 hours) pimpage, I’ll link to a comic I keep meaning/ forgetting to add to the link page, the fantastic Shrub Monkeys!! Ktshy does the best expressions in the world, not exaggerating. I know a lot of you like the way I do expressions but I don’t have nothing on her. Look at them for gods sakes. One of the few autobio-ish comics that I don’t find to be insanely boring (and is in fact hilarious).

Oh, and thanks so much too for the votes as of late, despite my uploading inane things (today being a good case in point). I feel like I am being imbued with INCREDIBLE POWERS.

Jeez Angora don’t be so scary XC Hopefully its obvious that the running guy is blondie from earlier. Sorry if the colors are whack, I finished the colors while OUI. Why is this such a bad day.

I feel like I haven’t much else to say today… uh, happy 4th to those of you who are celebrating it.

To folks who have emailed me recently (or not recently), I apologize for not giving a speedy reply. I’ll get to all your emails today. I don’t have an excuse, I just feel overwhelming despair whenever I look at my inbox and put it off until the next day. Been doing that for a couple days (weeks) now, many apologies.

Its the first of the month! So please click on the vote button if you can spare 5 seconds! The TWC board always gets me nervous on the first few days (why do I care so much).

Anyways, comic. Page 40, yayyy. Only 5 more pages in the chapter. I might have mentioned somewhere that The Meek is basically a stew made up of things I find interesting/ cool, put into comic format. Unfortunately I have a 3rd grader’s sense of humor, haha. Cock-punches and spit-takes, that’s all it boils down to in the end… Though I have been looking forward to drawing that since around page 2.

Anyways, its Wednesday! That means pimpage time. Today’s pimp (verb, not noun) goes to the fantasy webcomic Dead Heaven. It also started recently but has some extreeemly amazing professional quality art. It also has a more mature storyline (which I personally enjoy), so caution/ have at it!

The layout of this page (and the next) gave me so much trouble! But after I got over that hump the inking went by so fast. A new record for me, I think (the coloring… not so much).

Anyways, Angora looks a bit creepy, don’t you think? Her face in the last panel is my favorite for her of all my pics ever, yay. Crazy and goofy and scary (and naked), haha… I’m excited for the next page!

Technically it is 11:57pm PST so this is still a Wed. update… sorry its late, I was having comp troubles yesterday and got behind.

Anyways… A page! With… things. I know this may be a new and terrible concept, but sometimes half-naked girls with unnaturally colored hair + vine/tentacle things do not equal sexual assault. Revolutionary D: The next pages are going to be a lot of fun.

I think Wednesdays will be pimpage Wednesdays. Today’s pimpage is a site I visit at least twice a day looking for updates: The Webcomic Overlook! It has some pretty kickass webcomic reviews! El Santo reads through the entire archives of whatever he’s reviewing, and gets some backstory about the making or conception or whatever most of the time. He also covers a lot of variety of webcomics which is nice, since I may not of heard of a lot of them otherwise. I am addicted to reading the 1-star reviews… I love snark. Anyways, if you read a lot of webcomics, he has a big review index for you to pore through and agree/ disagree with.

Its been pretty hot lately, so my comp is suffering during the times I usually have free to work on comics. GLOBAL WARMING O NOES. Ideally there won’t be any more late updates, but in these troubled times who can say? If I’m being late or stupid or something I will post to Twitter to let you guys know (cuz you are so interested in the play-by-play).

Hello!

Happy update day :B Before anyone considers flying off the handle, no Angora isn’t getting inappropriately grabbed (he’s still holding her arm back). Though if you want to secretly think I’m an asshole for drawing any kind of mistreatment, GO FOR IT!!!

Also the site has been updated!! Thanks to my brilliant friend L who somehow managed to do this despite the most precarious of internets. Links are updated (look at them), and there’s a new adbox down there (its very cheap atm so take advantage if you’re an ad person!)… also, you can now flip through the comics by clicking on the comic pages, you don’t have to hit the “next” button. Today’s program brought to you by the letter LAZY, haha. No just kidding, anything for you guys.

New page! I don’t think anyone who commented predicted where I was going, which is surprisingly gratifying.

I was so super not feeling the colors on this page. Too many characters in a small space! Haha… I procrastinated every few minutes, so sorry if it looks weird or bad or something XC Oops, I see some bad proportions too… Why do I always see the mistakes after I hit upload?

Just want to reiterate thanks to readers new and old for following so far. I realize that its been over 6 months that I’ve been updating. Kind of crazy, I really expected to be done with at least a chapter by now, haha. Mr. Slow and Steady, thats me. Ah well.

One quick plug for a comic done by a reader (I don’t plug everyone who asks me but I make exceptions now and then): Cealdian. If you like the art in my comic, you’ll probaly enjoy looking at Cealdian too! Less than a dozen pages in but the story looks to be interesting. I love epic labor of love type comics… this could be a good place to jump on the bandwagon for a new one.

I fear there may be actual action coming up soon! See you Saturday
