I have to admit, the fooltoss on this page 35 was much better than in the final. I’m still trying to decide if I need to fix that in my final edits, or if the idea will carry if you’re reading one page after another.
Page 36 was the page where I realized that paneling actually does affect readability! Since most people didn’t read it correctly the first time. Also I totally put across the wrong idea on this page, which had to be fixed up… in the sketch version, Luca doesn’t know the rules and asks if Phe can be saved… but in the final version he doesn’t even bother asking Dagre to fix this mess, since he knows the limitations of D’s powers. To suffer is the burden of the living!

Well that’s it for Chapter 2! Can you believe it? I’ve been working on this since August 20th, 2009… and finished one day earlier than I had scheduled last fall :) Yus!

Thank you all so very much for reading. I’m going to write a proper thank you on my LJ later since this was such a tough year in so many respects, but also one of the most productive periods I’ve ever had.

Starting on Monday the 5th of July I will start to post the elusive sketch version of this chapter (the one that it seems like everyone except you has read already). I’m going to be posting at the same rate that I did back when I did them, which is to say 2 pages a day, so there will be a lot to see :) That should take about 4 weeks. After that will be the start of Chapter 3, and I will be posting regularly since I will have time to build a buffer. I will also be making some much-needed site edits and updates, as well as finally updating the Meekipedia (you can see I’ve already started on some articles). And getting ready for SDCC!

Anyways, I hope you have all enjoyed Chapter 2. I suggest you go back and read it again so you can pick up all the details that I hid in there. And get ready for Chapter 3, it is going to be pretty wild…

I was really amused by the person who commented last page that she needed a hug XD They were correct. OKAY, SO, NEWS:

CHAPTER 1 BOOKS ARE READY FOR PREORDER!

Remember Chapter 1? The story about the green-haired girl and her fat, drunk sidekick (kinda)? Well, thanks to my publisher 4DE, the comic is available for preorder! They are such a bargain compared to my self-printed ones. This fancy deal is only available until the comic is printed (they will be ready in July), since these preorders are funding the actual printing. After that the site will only have the non-written-in comics for sale. These comics also contain extra stuff compared to my self-printed ones… Some of the things you will find in the comic:
- re-edited pages with more details (some you will probably not notice… but I know they are there ohoho)
- entirely redone cover to make it match the interior art (I did the old one before I’d settled on the style I’m using now)
- an extra (and not online) minicomic about what the hell is up with Pinter in the first place
- some sketches and hideous production art and other things

So, if you would like a copy, or want to support The Meek somehow, or just like burning your money except your fire went out, consider ordering your copy and getting your money’s worth now :)

Quick comic pimp for today: Paradigm Shift! I was bouncing around from link to link when I found this, and thought it was worth a closer look. Extremely solid art (a bit more manga than I usually read, but good is good) and a very well paced and engaging story. The pacing is what stunned me, since the archives go back through 10 years of effort. But the story reads as smooth as you could hope, and has a few good twists :) I guess I caught it at a lucky time too since it is starting up again after a 1/2 year hiatus. Check it out!
