Ambassador fail!

God this page took a while. I expected it to be like 5 hours of colors (what with there being a lot of faces) but it took… 10. Thankfully I did my other work first before I did this so the day wasn’t a total productivity bust. The pages I’m really dreading though start next week. I have no idea what I’m going to do!!!! They are so complicated. But I’ll figure something out. Thats how much I love you guys.

The vote incentive for today proves that that one ambassador is indeed a woman, as some of you have been wondering… I, uh… I’m really sorry in advance.

The late post! As late as this is, I hope you’ll appreciate that I haven’t messed up my post a week average since I’ve started the comic, and I am not going to break that streak now. Page 28 will be up tomorrow so check back then!

Pimp of the week! I’m not sure if this started as a webcomic and became a book or the other way around. Someone told me that its also being made into a movie and etc etc. Either way, many many pages of Diary of a Wimpy Kid are available at that site and it is pretty great read. Very authentic and humorous, and I’m sure many of us can personally relate to being giant dorks in middle school. I spent a few nights reading through the archive and really enjoyed it.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I find that the best way to celebrate is by drawing some hairy old man chest, don’t you agree? Hahaha… a slightly more legitimate V-day pic under the vote!

Since I’ve been somewhat preoccupied the last few weeks, I haven’t really had time to look up newer/ lesser known webcomics. So this week I’ll pimp one that you might have already heard of, Dresden Codak. Aside from the fantastical (and sometimes unsettling) science, Mr. Diaz puts a lot of sweat and blood into making his comics into Art and I appreciate that. I’m sure you will as well!

PS “Thawed” is a somewhat insulting Pasori way to describe someone who is not up to par. TMI here, if you’re interested.

Forgiveness! Yes, this is an unhealthy relationship. No, I do not condone physical/ emotional abuse of any sort. Thankfully this is a comic with fictional characters and it is not real life.

Next week’s comic maaaay be up a bit late, it depends. I will have to see how much ass I can kick this week. A family death and a big deadline on top of all my other stuff is stressing me out like no other, so sorry in advance for any schedule slips on my end.

Pimp of the week goes to these delightful journal comics by a REAL biologist (aka she is a PhD and can write papers in her sleep). Not only does she do awesome research but she is super nice and draws excellent comics that you might like to take a look at. Yay!

Hopefully this page clarifies the scene a bit more. As usual, the wiki has enough info for you to figure out what is going on if you are a careful reader. For example, in the Emperor’s entry it does mention that he often talks to himself :B

Plug of the week goes to Gunshow, a hilarious comic about… uh, well you can decide for yourself. It might be an acquired taste for some of you but for what its worth, I think it’s great.

Oh yeah, and it came to my attention that this comic site is banned in certain countries :B So I’m putting the pages back on Deviantart, at a slightly higher rez than they are here. So if you’d like to see them there, you can find them at The Meek Club on DA along with other great Meek art by some great artists and occasional contests and giveaways!

I’ve been waiting since page 1 of this chapter to get to do this scene. Hard to believe its been months! And its been 4+ years since I drew my first sketches for this scene, I’ll be posting some of those this week as voting incentives (starting today!)

No pimp today, I had something in mind that is a good comic but not really my cup of tea. Then realized whats the point of pimping something I wouldn’t read? Maybe next week :B

Holy christ what is this, I updated a whole day early??? This page was sort of easy drawing-wise, that’s why :B Haha. I’m excited about pg 22!

Today’s pimp goes to the excellently rendered comic Strays! I generally do not read comics about animal people (with the exception of the ones that I need to keep up on in order to snark), but I can’t help liking this one. Nice characters too, including one who doesn’t talk (which is sort of rare for a webcomic). Check it out! As for me, I have some more comics to ink.

Mood shift! Its all fun and games until someone wants a divorce.

I’ve been having a blast reading the archives of Archipelago, a comic by TheSilverTopHat. The art starts out very rough but you should see how its developed! I’m amazed that it’s got nearly 700 pages and has only been around for two years. That is a page a day kind of updating guys, crazy. The story is a lot of fun and I am looking forward to see how it turns out.

I’m back at school now, we have a big week of RE1 labs coming up. And lots of fun after-school setup/ processing/ cleanup. I can’t wait . See you next Sunday :B

Thanks for voting The Meek up to #1 for the last few days! I’m sure we’ll go back down today or tomorrow but it was awesome while it lasted I’ll be posting some detail panels and notes on how I figure out perspective this week as the vote incentives.
